There are so few characters and the villain does not arrive until about 1/3 of the way into the book.Read all three to make sense of what Lewis was trying to accomplish in the longer narrative arcģ Reasons PERELANDRA is My Least Favorite of the Trilogy.Finally…a strong female character (there were none in the first novel).The ideas are put forward clearly and by someone well acquainted with 20th century ideas.One of the more unique portrayals in literature of paradise and/or a pre-fallen world.5 Reasons to Read PERELANDRA, A Classic Science Fiction Story Link to OUT OF THE SILENT PLANET for a review of the first book in the trilogy. For all readers, taking the time to discuss after or along the way will deepen philosophical and theological understanding.
This is not a children’s book, but I recommend this novel to all ages who like the story.
